11/13/09-01/02/10  Original Art- Home for the Holidays (not Christmas themed).  at the Hoosier Salon located at 714 East 65th ST, Indianapolis, IN 46220.  (1 block east of College Ave on 65th Street).  This all members show and sale includes over 100 artists.  Included is Diana Hunter's original oil painting titled  Bridge Over Quiet Water.  You are invited to the opening reception Friday, November 13th from 5:30-8:30 PM.

On display are Beautiful Brown County and Under the Pier by Diana J. Hunter.  The Clark Gallery is open to the public every day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Artwork may be purchased. On November 17, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., a presentation of awards and a reception will be held.  All are welcome.

September 19 - 27 Images of Nature (2009), a nature photography exhibit at the new Earth Discovery Center at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis from 9 AM - 5 PM  Mon -Sat and 1 PM - 5 PM on Sun. Opening reception is Friday, September 18th from 6 - 8 PM.  On display are Alaskan Waterfall, Just Ducky, and Me and My Shadow,which won third place.  Note there is a fee to enter Eagle Creek Park.

Directions:  The exit ramp from I-465 to 56th street is closed.

Directions to the Earth Discovery Center:

From the 56th Street Park entrance – go to the second left turn (toward the Marina). About halfway to the Marina, take the left turn marked by a sign to the Discovery Center.  Follow the road to the Center.

 

From the 71st Street entrance, drive through the park to the first right turn. Then follow directions as above.

 

Note that the old Nature Center is now closed.

August 7-23, Indiana State Fair  Eye of the Swinging Pendulum receives an Honorable Mention.  In addition Reflections on 300 and Under the Pier are on display on the second floor of the Home and Family Arts Building.  Ask an attendant to help you find them by giving my name.

November 15, 2008 - January 9, 2009, Irvington Presents 2008:  A Juried Art Competition

Diana J. Hunter has 3 photographs on display at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center which is sponsored by the Irvington Historical Society, Inc. and is located at 5350 East University Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46219.  They are Circles, Landing and Reflections on 300.  You are invited to the opening reception on Saturday, November 15th, from 7 - 9 PM.  Over 70 pieces of contemporary art are for viewing and sale. 

Hours for the Exhibit are

October 18-30 Hoosier Salon Members' Exhibit at the One America building (atrium) bordered by New York, Ohio, Capital and Illinois in Indianapolis.  The entrance is off of New York.  Diana Hunter's original oil painting of Fall Creek is one of over 100 entries.

September 29 - October 28, 2008  Selected pieces of IWA members will go on tour and be at the Sycamore Fine Arts located in the Old Bag Factory, 1100 Chicago AV, Goshen, IN 46528 (www.sycamorefinearts.com).  The exhibit can be viewed Monday-Friday 9 AM-5PM and Saturday 9 AM-4 PM.  Free.  There will be a reception on Friday, October 3rd from 6 to 8 PM.

October  2 - 29 Selected pieces of IWA members will go on tour and be at  the Garrett Museum of Art

August 6-17, Indiana State Fair  Circles won third place.  Also on display were Landing which won an Honorable Mention and Tortoise on the Go.  The photographs were on display on the second floor of the Family Arts Building.

Governor's Mansion- I was thankful to have two miniature oil paintings selected by the First Lady of Indiana, Cheri Daniels, to be on permanent display at the Governor's Mansion.  They are Distant Bridge and Farm Country.

May 1-July 30, 2008  "Inside the Round Barn" and "Fishing at Sunset" were on display at the Central Library located at 40 E. St. Clair Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.  These pictures were part of the exhibit of the Riviera Camera Club.  A number of the pictures have previously won top awards.  Library hours are M-Thur 9-9, Fri 9-6, Sat 9-5 and Sun 1-5.

February 1-February 28 (2008) Hilbert Circle Theatre (Indianapolis) "The exhibit is a killer!"  This is a comment regarding the Riviera Camera Club photography exhibit at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.  Come see "Inside the Round Barn" when you go to the Symphony.

News Flash!  Diana Hunter's picture titled Tortoise on the Go took first place in the Digital Art category in the Reformed Presbyterian Witness Creative Arts Contest (2006).  I was not allowed to publish it for a year but now the time is up!

November 2-29 (2007) Creative Images Exhibits sponsored by Photo Venture Camera Club at the Indianapolis Artsgarden located in the glass structure above the intersection of Washington and Illinois streets in downtown Indianapolis.  The Artsgarden connects to the Embassy Suites complex and Circle Center Mall.  Opening reception is November 2nd from 7-9 PM.

Artsgarden hours:
Mon-Sat: 9 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Sun: Noon -
6:30 p.m.

There will be more than 80 images from 15 states and five countries.  On display are Great Egret and Fishing at Sunset.

September 9-23, 2007, Indiana Wildlife Artists Annual Exhibit starting their Silver Anniversary.  The award ceremony is on Sunday, September 9, 2007, from 2-4 PM at Minnetrista.  The exhibit may be viewed without cost Monday through Friday 9 AM-5:30 PM, Saturday 9 AM-8  PM and Sunday 11 AM-5:30 PM.

February 17 - March 4, 2007, Nature's Inspirations, Fine Art Exhibit and Sale at Cool Creek Nature Center 2001 East 151st Street, Carmel, IN 46033.  Hours: Mon - Sat 10 AM - 5 PM: Sun 1 PM - 5 PM (closed on Monday, February 19)  Located east of the Fire Station near 151st Street and North Keystone (North 431 which becomes North 31).  You will see Swimming Lady and Great Egret.  (Click on underlined words to see the pictures.)
