August 6-17, 2008, Indiana State Fair
Circles won
third place. Also on display were
Landing which won an Honorable
Mention and
Tortoise on the Go. The photographs
were on display on the second floor of the Family Arts Building.

Governor's Mansion-
I was thankful to have two miniature oil paintings selected by the
First Lady of Indiana, Cheri Daniels, to be on permanent display at
the Governor's Mansion. They are
Distant Bridge and
Farm Country.

May 1-July 30, 2008 "Inside
the Round Barn" and
"Fishing
at Sunset" were on display at the Central Library
located at 40 E. St. Clair Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204. These pictures
were part of the exhibit of the Riviera Camera Club. A number of the
pictures have previously won top awards. Library hours are M-Thur 9-9,
Fri 9-6, Sat 9-5 and Sun 1-5.

News Flash! Diana Hunter's picture
titled
Tortoise on the Go
took first place in the Digital Art category in the Reformed Presbyterian
Witness Creative Arts Contest (2006). I was not allowed to publish it for
a year but now the time is up!

Art-Holiday Style (not Christmas themed) at the Hoosier Salon
located at 714 East 65th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220 (1 block east of
College Ave on 65th Street). Come to the opening
reception on Friday, November 16th from 6 to 8 PM. This all
members show and sale includes over 91
artists - painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass and mobiles. Included is
the original oil painting titled
Winding Stream.

Irvington Presents 2007: A Juried Art Competition
Diana J. Hunter
won the top Photography prize for
"Inside the Round Barn" on display at the
Bona Thompson Memorial Center which is sponsored by the Irvington
Historical Society, Inc. and is located at 5350 East University Avenue,
Indianapolis, IN 46219. This prize is the Robert Selby Merit Prize for
Photography. Hours for the Exhibit are

Nature (2007), an art exhibit at the new Earth Discovery Center at
Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis from 9 AM - 5 PM Sat and 1 PM - 5 PM on
Sun. Opening reception is Friday, November 30th from 6 - 8 PM. On display

Dancing
and
Heading Home. Note there is a fee to
enter Eagle Creek Park.
Directions: The exit ramp from I-465 to 56th street is
closed.
Directions to
the Earth Discovery Center:
From the 56th
Street Park entrance – go to the second left turn (toward the Marina).
About halfway to the Marina, take the left turn marked by a sign to the
Discovery Center. Follow the road to the Center.
From the 71st
Street entrance, drive through the park to the first right turn. Then
follow directions as above.
Note that
the old Nature Center is now closed.

Creative Images Exhibits sponsored
by Photo Venture Camera Club at the
Indianapolis Artsgarden
located in the glass structure above the intersection of Washington and
Illinois streets in downtown Indianapolis. The Artsgarden connects to the
Embassy Suites complex and Circle Center Mall.
Opening reception is November 2nd from
7-9 PM.
Artsgarden hours:
Mon-Sat: 9 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Sun: Noon -
6:30 p.m.
There will be more than 80 images from
15 states and five countries. On display are
Great Egret and
Fishing at Sunset.

Wildlife Artists Annual Exhibit
starting their Silver Anniversary. The award ceremony is on Sunday,
September 9, 2007, from 2-4 PM at Minnetrista. The exhibit may be viewed
without cost Monday through Friday 9 AM-5:30 PM, Saturday 9 AM-8 PM and
Sunday 11 AM-5:30 PM.
